Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Charg'd ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Charg'd is a mobile application that helps electric vehicle (EV) drivers in Egypt locate charging stations, view real-time availability, and plan trips. The App aggregates data from third-party charging network providers — including Infinity EV, ElSewedy Plug, Sha7en, Ikarus, and Taqa Volt — and does not own or operate any charging stations.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features (such as saving favourite stations or submitting reviews), you must create an account. You are responsible for:

Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential
All activity that occurs under your account
Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account

4. Accuracy of Station Data

Important safety notice: Charg'd aggregates real-time data from third-party charging networks. While we strive to display accurate and up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of station data at any given time. Never rely solely on this app when planning a journey. Always verify charger availability before committing to a route, especially on long-distance trips where running out of charge could pose a safety risk.

Station data is provided by Infinity EV, ElSewedy Plug (ElSewedy Electric), Sha7en, Ikarus, and Taqa Volt. Availability, pricing, and connector information may change without notice. Charg'd is not responsible for any costs, damages, or inconvenience arising from inaccurate or unavailable station data.

5. Acceptable Use

By using the App, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. The following section outlines activity that is prohibited.

Fair Use

We provide the App with the assumption your use will be "business as usual". If your use is considered to be excessive or abusive, we may restrict access or suspend your account.

App-Specific Rules

You agree not to:

Submit false reviews or ratings — Do not post fabricated, misleading, or defamatory reviews of charging stations. Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experiences.
Scrape or automate data extraction — Do not use automated tools, bots, crawlers, or scripts to extract station data, user data, or any other content from the App or its APIs.
Tamper with the App's infrastructure — Do not attempt to access, disrupt, or reverse engineer any part of the App's servers, backend systems, or source code.
Impersonate Charg'd — Do not impersonate Charg'd, represent a significant business relationship with us, or misuse our brand or logos to gain service, trust, or patronage.
Misuse authentication — Do not attempt to obtain services with intent to avoid payment, and do not access accounts you do not own or are not authorized to access.

Copyright Infringement and Unauthorized Material

The App must not be used to transmit, distribute, or store any material in violation of any applicable law. This includes material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights used without proper authorization, and any material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.

You are solely responsible for all material you input, upload, or publish through the App, and for obtaining legal permission to use any works included in such material.

Spam and Unauthorized Message Activity

The App must not be used for the purpose of sending unsolicited bulk or commercial messages in violation of laws applicable to your jurisdiction. All messaging lists operated through or hosted by our services must be "confirmed opt-in".

Unethical, Exploitative, and Malicious Activity

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

Intentionally or recklessly introducing viruses or malicious code into our systems
Engaging in denial-of-service attacks, packet flooding, or mail-bombing
Accessing, altering, or destroying any information about our users without authorization
Publishing or transmitting content that incites violence, depicts child pornography, or threatens anyone's health and safety
Any act or omission in violation of consumer protection laws
Any violation of a person's privacy
Activities related to illegal gambling, terrorism, narcotics trafficking, arms trafficking, or weapons of mass destruction

Customer Accountability

You are responsible for your own actions and for the actions of anyone using the App with your permission. If you violate these Terms, we reserve the right to terminate any services associated with your account, or take any remedial or preventative action we deem appropriate without notice. To the extent permitted by law, no credit will be available for interruptions of service resulting from any violation of these Terms.

6. User-Generated Content

If you submit reviews, ratings, or other content through the App, you grant Charg'd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use that content within the App. You represent that your content does not violate any third-party rights.

Reviews and ratings are publicly visible to all users of the App. Charg'd reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is reported as inaccurate or inappropriate.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, logos, and software within Charg'd are the property of Charg'd and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of the App without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that station data will always be accurate or current.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Charg'd and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App, including but not limited to damage to your vehicle, costs incurred due to inaccurate station data, inability to find a working charger, or loss of data.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cairo, Egypt.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time by publishing the revised version on our website. The revised version will be effective from the earlier of: the date you use the App after we publish the revised version, or 30 days after we publish the revised version.

If the changes are significant, we will notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
